Driving Innovation, Solutions and Products

At Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI), innovation continues to define how we support our customers and advance mission success. This March, we are proud to highlight several recent efforts that demonstrate our commitment to delivering forward-thinking solutions across the federal landscape.

Science

One of our most significant recent achievements is the award of a three-year grant from the Bezos Earth Fund to SSAI's Craig Pellissier, Computer Science SME Supervisor, serving as Principal Investigator. His project, "Revealing the Amazon's Hidden Hydrological Engine," will develop a first-of-its-kind Hydrological Intelligence Tool that integrates machine learning with physically grounded Earth system models.

This work will translate changes in Amazon forest conditions - such as loss, restoration, and climate variability - into decision-relevant impacts on rainfall, river flow, aquifer recharge, and plant water stress across South America. This award reflects the strength of SSAI's scientific and technical leadership in addressing complex, global environmental challenges.

Mission Critical Solutions

SSAI also continues to raise the bar through innovation within Other Transaction Authority (OTA) programs. We recently had two solutions recognized for their technical advancement. Our Virtual Integrated Operations Center (VIOC) for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Labs in Philadelphia introduces a new capability to integrate Mission Readiness Planning tools and consolidate key metrics into a unified dashboard-delivering a level of technological capability not currently available within the Labs. In addition, our Knowledge to Execution Enablement Network (KEEN) platform directly addresses the challenge of transforming fragmented training data and institutional knowledge into timely, actionable insight. These efforts reflect SSAI's continued commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in support of our customers.

SSAI Wholly-Owned Subsidiaries

As part of our growth strategy, SSAI continues to expand and diversify our capabilities through our wholly-owned subsidiaries. Our Advanced Mission Partners subsidiary provides high-reliability advanced printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing and repair. With a 32,000-square-foot facility and a team bringing over 150 years of combined experience, Advanced Mission Partners supports complex mission-critical hardware and rapid R&D efforts while maintaining a strong focus on efficiency and quality.

Advanced Mission Partners has the ability to reverse engineer PCBs where the original manufacturer or designer is no longer viable, providing clients with a unique capability. They may not have to replace outdated equipment, but are able to extend the lifecycle or ensure projects progress forward. Finally, Advanced Mission Partners deploys a Design for Manufacturability (D4M) process to ensure PCBs are able to be mass produced while maintaining the highest quality.
