SSAI’s Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program team won the American Geophysical Union’s (AGU) 2021 Excellence in Earth and Space Science Education Award—demonstrating a sustained commitment to excellence in geophysical education.

This week, the Earth to Sky team hosted events at the National Association for Interpretation to help interpreters - educators like park rangers who help people emotionally connect to places - connect to NASA and NPS resources.   

On November 10, research by the SSAI-led AERONET Team was featured as part of a NASA Hyperwall presentation on atmospheric aerosols at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26) in Glasgow.

NASA tasked Team SSAI with building a small instrument called ARGOS (Aerosol Radiometer for Global Observation of the Stratosphere) that will be launched on a satellite in Fall 2023.

SSAI’s Dr. Jingfeng Huang and his colleagues developed the Hurricane Warm Core 3D Animation System (HWCAS) under the Integrated Calibration and Validation System (ICVS) in support of the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Program Office.
