Saharan dust covered many parts of Europe throughout March 2022. SSAI’s Colin Seftor, an expert in the use of a satellite data product known as the Aerosol Index (AI), was on hand to help better understand how this unique type of weather event called a Dust-Infused Baroclinic Storm (DIBS) is formed and why it occurs.
