Today, Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) founders, Om Bahethi and Sara Bahethi, announced the appointment of Dr. Shilpa Bahethi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SSAI. Shilpa, a distinguished member of the SSAI family and previously the Corporate Treasurer, is renowned for her exemplary leadership skills and unwavering commitment to the company's success. Her profound understanding of SSAI core values and culture, coupled with her outstanding financial expertise, uniquely qualifies her to guide SSAI towards further growth and prosperity. As a woman and minority-owned small business, SSAI will expand and grow while maintaining the legacy built over the last 47 years.
Shilpa is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and enhances SSAI’s value proposition greatly, particularly in fields where science, engineering, and health intersect. This expertise is vital in addressing complex challenges such as climate change, which not only involve scientific and engineering aspects but also have significant health implications. Her dedication to creating a positive and innovative work environment has been a cornerstone of SSAI's achievements and makes her transition to CEO a natural and exciting progression for our organization.

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. and the Virginia Peninsula Chamber is excited to host a ribbon cutting and open house at SSAI’s new office location in Hampton, Virginia, on Thursday, Jan. 11. The ribbon cutting ceremony will commence at 2:45 pm and will be followed by presentations from SSAI leaders.
These presentations will cover SSAI's involvement in STEM education, engineering, science, and artificial intelligence, and will be followed by refreshments. The information covered includes details about SSAI’s status as a Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) partner, SSAI and GLOBE’s role in local STEM education, the growing importance of AI in science and engineering, and future implications for SSAI’s Data Science and AI Lab (DSAIL).
